Research Day is an annual event by the Brigham Research Institute at Brigham and Women's Hospital that takes place each November.
The first Research Day was in 2012 and we are excited to be celebrating our 3rd Annual Research Day on Thursday, November 20, 2014. Each year, we invite everyone to be a part of the day and learn more about the groundbreaking research that happens at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Research Day was envisioned as a way to engage the hospital community as well as the public with the innovative and cutting-edge research that happens here every day. It is an opportunity for researchers to share their discoveries, patients to learn more about how research impacts clinical care and for our entire community to come together to celebrate the work happening at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
The goal of Research Day is to bring together researchers, scientists, clinicians, administrators, trainees, students, industry collaborators & partners, patients, members of the Boston community and anyone interested in learning more about how research impacts healthcare.
The poster sessions are a great way to learn about the range of projects and interact with the foot soldiers of research and innovation at the hospital.
Listening to the symposia talks and having a chance to talk to various researchers during the poster session were the best parts [of the day]. It's so informative and also put a human face on all of the research going on at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
My favorite part was all of the symposia, because I had the opportunity to hear world-renowned experts speak about their [research] areas.
It was great to see everyone - senior leaders, scientists, donors and admirers just mixing and sharing in the excitement of the day... it felt like a real celebration!
